Ministry of Justice is seeking a catering lead to work in an industrial kitchen within a prison, overseeing offenders to prepare and cook nutritious meals. You will ensure quality, safety and training, helping offenders turn their lives around by gaining qualifications.

The role offers a 37-hour week with hybrid working arrangements where possible, a band 4 salary and Civil Service benefits, including apprenticeship opportunities.

Formación

• Level 2 food production certificate or equivalent required.
• Food hygiene Level 2 and Level 3 certificates.
• Experience in an industrial kitchen environment and with HACCP/food safety.
• Vocational Level 3 or equivalent qualifications.
• Able to demonstrate leadership and the ability to manage teams.
• English language competence for instruction and interaction.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee the work of offenders to prepare and cook nutritious meals for the prison.
• Lead and manage kitchen tasks ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene regulations.
• Support learners to gain qualifications and develop culinary skills.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative catering team environment.
