Job summary

Ministry of Justice in the UK is seeking a capable catering professional to lead a prison kitchen team. You will oversee offenders, preparing nutritious meals and supporting their skill development and qualifications.

The role offers a 37-hour week with varied shifts, and a 20% unsocial hours allowance. As part of the Humber business unit, you will work within a professional industrial kitchen, contributing to rehabilitation goals and benefiting from Civil Service terms and a pension.

Qualifications

• Level 2 certificate in food production within hospitality and catering or equivalent
• Food hygiene certificate at Level 2

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of offenders to prepare and cook quality, nutritional meals for the entire prison
• Help offenders turn their lives around by teaching them new kitchen skills and qualifications to improve employment prospects
• Work 37 hours per week with shifts that include early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays; 20% unsocial hours allowance

Education
