Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a catering staff member for a 37-hour week in an industrial kitchen. You’ll supervise offenders preparing nutritious meals and help them gain skills and qualifications to improve future employment prospects.

Hybrid working is available where possible, with a Band 3 salary band (£34,928–£36,778) and Civil Service benefits including pension and opportunities to learn and progress.

Qualifications

• Level 2 food production certificate or equivalent.
• Level 2 food hygiene certificate.
• Able to work in an industrial kitchen and follow HACCP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee offenders in preparing and cooking meals for the prison.
• Ensure quality, nutrition and safety of all meals.
• Support offenders to learn new skills and gain qualifications.
