Job summary

Amey is recruiting a Grounds Maintenance Operative for HMP Long Lartin. You will perform mowing, hedge work, litter clearance, and equipment handling within a secure prison environment, ensuring safety, compliance and timely maintenance.

The role requires a full driving licence and experience in grounds maintenance. The package includes a competitive salary and company benefits as part of Amey’s long-term contracts.

Qualifications

• Experience in gardening and grounds maintenance tasks.
• Familiarity with horticulture operations and weed control.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform grass cutting, hedge trimming and litter clearance.
• Set out and maintain pitches and recreational areas.
• Operate light plant and power tools; perform equipment checks.
• Paint sundry equipment and ensure general site housekeeping.
• Support health & safety standards across the contract.
• Contribute to carbon reduction and efficiency initiatives.
