Amey is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative for HMP Long Lartin in Evesham. The role focuses on maintaining grounds, operating light machinery, and ensuring safety and compliance across the site.

The successful candidate will participate in drainage, painting and general grounds tasks, with opportunities for training and career progression within Amey's facilities management portfolio.

Qualifications

• Gardening, horticulture and grounds maintenance experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Weed-spraying certificate.
• Experience operating light plant and wheeled tractors.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation.
• Chainsaw qualifications CS30/CS31/CS34 with safe ladder use.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds: grass cutting, hedge trimming, planting, seeding and weed control.
• Operate light plant and power tools with safety checks.
• Set out and maintain grass, tarmac, artificial and synthetic pitches in recreational areas.
• Undertake drainage, painting, litter picking and general grounds maintenance tasks.
• Support local and business zero-carbon programmes where appropriate.
• Maintain high health and safety standards on the contract.
