Amey is recruiting for a Grounds Maintenance Operative at HMP Long Lartin. The role is a full-time position, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am–5pm with a 1-hour early finish on Fridays. The annual salary is £27,426.

Applicants should hold a full driving licence and have gardening and grounds maintenance experience. The role includes operating light plant and power tools, setting out sports pitches, and supporting health and safety across the contract.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence required.
• Experience in gardening and grounds maintenance.
• Weed spraying certificate required.
• Experience with light plant and equipment.
• Chainsaw operations and safety certificates referenced.
• Ladder use and safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance including grass cutting and hedges.
• Clear leaves, litter, verges, and weed spraying.
• Set out and maintain sports pitches and artificial surfaces.
• Paint sundry equipment and perform minor drainage works.
• Keep grounds clean and safe; assist with other FM duties.
• Support zero carbon programmes and uphold H&S standards.
