Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is recruiting a Strategic Housing Specialist to lead housing outcomes for prison leavers across a cluster of establishments. The role focuses on improving access to accommodation, coordinating with local authorities, CRS, HPTs and probation services to drive sustainable change.

You will work with governors and senior leaders, develop housing strategies, and ensure data quality to monitor performance. Hybrid working is available, with travel to sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting delivery of the Homelessness Reduction Act and Duty to Refer (DtR).
• Experience with housing for prisoners and engagement with housing authorities, CRS and HPTs.
• Ability to engage multiple housing stakeholders and drive change within a multi-agency setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate strategic housing response for a cluster of prisons to improve housing outcomes for leavers and those in custody.
• Champion delivery of the HRA and DtR, and develop training related to homelessness within the prison and related agencies.
• Develop pre-release assessments with Local Authorities and support data-driven housing strategies across regions.
