Job summary

Get Set UK is seeking a part-time Careers Information, Advice and Guidance Advisor to work inside a custodial environment at HMP Thameside, with coverage at Belmarsh and Isis. You will deliver one-to-one guidance, group sessions and practical workshops to help people plan post-release employment, education or training.

You will manage a caseload, maintain records and support progression with partners across the prison and local providers.

Qualifications

• CV and application must demonstrate experience in careers guidance or employability coaching.
• Experience delivering group workshops or structured learning sessions.
• Experience managing competing priorities and maintaining accurate records.
• Experience handling sensitive information, safeguarding, confidentiality, or professional boundaries.
• Level 3 or higher qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance or willingness to work towards Level 4.
• Evidence of commitment, reliability and delivering high standards.

Responsibilities

• Help people in custody understand their skills and plan realistic employment, training or education after release.
• Manage caseload, deliver one-to-one guidance and practical workshops, and create action plans.
• Maintain accurate case records and supporting evidence; work towards agreed outcomes and targets.
• Work with prison colleagues, training providers, employers and community services to support progression beyond custody.
