Job summary

Rethink Mental Illness, in partnership with TEWV NHS Foundation Trust, seeks a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join a stepped care mental health service in North East Prisons. The role runs 0800–1600 Monday to Friday and requires a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.

You will assess referrals, deliver low-intensity CBT-based interventions, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure smooth step-up and step-down arrangements and continuity of care

Qualifications

• Qualified as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner with IAPT training.
• Accredited with BACP or BPS and registered where applicable.
• Experience delivering IAPT low-intensity interventions at Step 2.
• Experience in stepped care and recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage referrals, determine suitability, and ensure appropriate care levels.
• Deliver low-intensity CBT-based interventions and psycho-educational support.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and coordinate step-up/step-down care.
• Maintain accurate records, report outcomes, and uphold confidentiality.
• Support performance targets and continuity of care post-release.
