Job summary

Smart Display is looking for a Print Studio Manager to head the print production department. Based in Wyke, Bradford, you will oversee day-to-day output, manage materials and suppliers, schedule projects, and lead a small team to deliver high-quality print work for a range of clients.

The role requires 4+ years in a similar print production operation and 1–2 years of management experience. You will work in a fast-paced environment with opportunity for growth and hands-on leadership.

At Smart Display we specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of exhibition stands for our clients across the UK and Europe.

We have spent the last 11 years building a company that delivers the very best for its clients by utilising a wide range of inhouse manufacturing capabilities from our 25,000 sqft premises in Wyke, Bradford.We are an ambitious team with a strong work ethic and a real passion for bold ideas and delivering successful, unique events for our clients.

The Role

We’re looking for a talented, enthusiastic, energetic and highly organised Print Studio Manager to head up a department that is at the very core of the company output.

The company has invested heavily in the print production department over the last couple of years and now due to some internal restructuring, we’re looking for someone to oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure we deliver great work for our clients in a smooth, efficient and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Day to day management of all departmental output.
• Ordering materials, managing supply chain and sourcing new suppliers when required.
• Managing scheduling of projects and juggling a busy workflow.
• Maintaining stock levels.
• Working closely with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of projects through the company.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
• Manage a small team of print operators, setting daily/weekly tasks and monitoring progress/training where necessary.
• Carry out finishing tasks as required, including cutting, trimming, laminating and vinyl application.
• Carry out regular maintenance of all machinery.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with at least 4 years’ experience working in a similar sized print production operation and at least 1-2 years of management experience overseeing a small team.

Essential attributes:

• Very organised and disciplined.
• Adaptable and flexible as the business workflow dictates.
• Personable, good communicator with both department staff and other department heads.

Experience and Skills:

• Digital print operation and large-format finishing.
• Experience with RIP software (e.g. PrintFactory).
• CNC Router operation and/or fabric graphic production.
• Cutter and laminator experience.
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
• Knowledge of signage manufacture, vehicle graphics etc would be an added benefit.
