The Role
We are seeking aPrint Design Assistantto support our team in developing distinctive and innovative prints that honour the brand’s rich heritage while embracing fresh creativity. You will contribute to every stage of the print development process, from researching vintage influences to refining colour palettes and preparing production-ready artwork. You will also liaise with key licensees and internal teams to ensure consistency and high-quality execution across all product categories. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and detail-driven designer who has a love for bold graphics, retro-inspired design, and the timeless charm of the 60s and 70s.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the creation of original, bold, and timeless print designs across fashion, homeware, and accessories.
Support the research and development of seasonal print concepts, drawing inspiration from mid-century modern design, vintage textiles, and 60s/70s aesthetics.
Develop and refine colour palettes that align with Orla Kiely’s joyful and nostalgic approach to design.
Create seamless repeat patterns and ensure designs areproduction ready.
Work closely with the design team to ensure print artworks translate beautifully across different materials and product categories.
Liaise withmanufacturers, printers, and licenseesto ensure the highest quality execution of prints and meet key seasonal deadlines.
Maintain and organise the digital print archive, ensuring an efficient workflow.
Keep up to date with industry trends, colour forecasting, and emerging print techniques.
Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, e-commerce, and production, to ensure design consistency across all brand touchpoints.
About You
Adegree in Textile Design, Graphic Design, or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a print or fashion design studio (preferred but not essential).
A portfolio showcasing strong print and pattern design skills, with an eye for colour and composition.
A strong passion formid-century modern, 60s/70s design, and bold graphic prints.
Proficiency inAdobe Creative Suite – particularly on Illustrator
A solid understanding oftextile production, print techniques, and pattern repeat creation.
Pride in the content and quality of your work with strong attention to detail and a strong sense of colour.
Highlyorganised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
A can-do attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
Aproactive, adaptable, and collaborativeteam player, with confidence to share ideas but also open to team input.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A clear and structured approach to work including excellent organizational skills and time keeping.
Calm under pressure, with an ability to multitask across seasons and projects while managing and meeting deadlines.
An ability to follow through a design and development process from start to finish.
