Responsibilities

• Follow Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Assist the Printer with the preparation and running of production jobs.
• Load and prepare materials, inks, and consumables for production.
• Move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products around the production area.
• Support machine cleaning and basic housekeeping activities.
• Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe at all times.
• Assist with machine set-ups and changeovers under supervision.
• Carry out basic production paperwork and report concerns.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Print Assistant to join our team in Barwell. This role would suit someone looking to start a career in manufacturing or printing, as full training will be provided.

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours:

• Week 1: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, 06:00 - 18:00
• Week 2: Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 06:00 - 18:00

Role Overview

As a Print Assistant, you will support the Flexographic Printer in the day-to-day running of printing presses, helping to ensure production runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will assist with preparing materials, maintaining a clean and organised work area, and supporting the production process to deliver high-quality products to our customers.

No previous printing experience is required. We are looking for individuals with a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the print industry. Full training will be provided, and successful candidates will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills with a clear progression pathway towards becoming a Flexographic Printer.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Assist the Printer with the preparation and running of production jobs.
• Load and prepare materials, inks, and consumables for production.
• Help move raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products around the production area.
• Support machine cleaning and basic housekeeping activities.
• Ensure work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe at all times.
• Assist with machine set‑ups and changeovers under supervision.
• Carry out visual quality checks and report any concerns to the Printer or Supervisor.
• Complete basic production paperwork as required.
• Support colleagues to achieve production targets and customer requirements.
• Report any equipment issues, material shortages, or safety concerns.
• Follow company Quality, Hygiene, and BRC standards at all times.
• Participate in training and development activities to build knowledge and skills.
