Job summary

Coveris Gainsborough is seeking a motivated Print Assistant to join the Print Department. You will work closely with the Printer to ensure the press runs safely, efficiently and to the highest quality. Prior flexographic printing experience is beneficial and familiarity with Prism is advantageous.

The role offers ongoing training, a supportive environment, and opportunities for career progression within a leading packaging manufacturer in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operation of the print press to maximise efficiency and performance.
• Monitor press ancillary areas and assist Printer as needed.
• Ensure quality documentation and production records using Prism.
• Carry out quality checks per SOPs and maintain 5S housekeeping.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover when required.

Coveris Gainsborough is a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions, supplying high-quality products to some of the UK's best-known brands. We are looking for a motivated and reliable Print Assistant to join our Print Department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within manufacturing. Previous flexographic printing experience is beneficial.

What You'll Be Doing

Working closely with the Printer, you'll help ensure the print press operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the print press to maximise efficiency and performance
• Monitoring and controlling print press ancillary support areas
• Ensuring the Printer has the support needed to achieve machine KPIs
• Monitoring the press during periods when the Printer is away from the machine
• Completing quality documentation and production records accurately using Prism
• Carrying out quality checks in line with standard operating procedures
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and supporting 5S activities
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site
• Providing holiday and sickness cover where required
• Ensuring effective communication and handovers between shifts
• Following all health, safety, hygiene and quality procedures

We're looking for someone who:

• Possesses strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Can work independently and take initiative
• Has good organisational and problem-solving skills
• Is self-motivated and eager to learn
• Works well as part of a team
• Has knowledge of flexographic printing processes (desirable but not essential)
• Has experience using Prism systems (advantageous)
