Job summary

TLG Infrastructure Limited is recruiting a Principal Electrical Engineer for its building services consultancy. The role focuses on delivering major data centre, mission critical and commercial projects with a lead role from concept through to completion.

You will manage electrical building services design across RIBA Stages 1-6, coordinating with clients and the wider team, and mentoring junior engineers while working in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• At least five years' experience in electrical building services design.
• Must hold a minimum HNC qualification in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience managing projects and coordinating designs with other disciplines.
• Experience on data centre, mission critical or major commercial projects is highly relevant.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors and other design team members.
• Attend design team and project meetings.
• Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, public health, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Manage project programmes, deliverables and deadlines.
• Review contractor proposals, technical submissions and installations.
• Support and mentor junior electrical team members.
• Work independently with support from the wider engineering and management team.

Principal Electrical Engineer - Building Services

Salary: £65,000-£75,000 + package

Working pattern: Hybrid, with a minimum of three days per week in the office, subject to project requirements

We are recruiting a Principal Electrical Engineer for a privately owned building services consultancy delivering major projects across the data centre, mission critical and commercial sectors. The consultancy works with Tier 1 main contractors and blue chip clients, offering the opportunity to take a lead role on technically demanding projects from concept through to completion.

The role

You will manage and deliver electrical building services design across RIBA Stages 1-6, working directly with clients and the wider project team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing electrical designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
• Liaising with clients, architects, contractors and other members of the design team.
• Attending design team and project meetings.
• Coordinating electrical designs with mechanical, public health, structural and architectural disciplines.
• Managing project programmes, deliverables and deadlines.
• Reviewing contractor proposals, technical submissions and installations.
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the electrical team.
• Working independently, with support from the wider engineering and management team.

About you

To be considered, you must have:

• At least five years' experience in electrical building services design.
• A minimum HNC qualification in electrical engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Experience managing projects, coordinating designs with other disciplines and communicating directly with clients.
• Experience on data centre, mission critical or major commercial projects would be particularly relevant.

Package

The salary on offer is £65,000-£75,000 plus package. The consultancy offers flexible working hours, hybrid working, a laptop and phone, and 25 days' holiday, including three days taken over Christmas.
