Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd in Manchester is seeking an experienced Principal Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to lead complex modelling projects within the Water and Wastewater division.

You will manage a team, oversee model build, calibration, and hydraulic analysis, and engage with clients on major UK water infrastructure projects. Hybrid working and strong career progression are offered.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, GIS or equivalent qualifications.
• Extensive experience in wastewater hydraulic modelling and network planning.
• Expertise in InfoWorks ICM and ICM Exchange.
• Proven track record leading projects and technical teams.
• Understanding of UK water industry, DWMPs and regulatory requirements.
• Full right to work in the UK and a valid UK driving licence.
• Live within commutable distance to Manchester office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the delivery of complex wastewater hydraulic modelling projects.
• Manage a team of wastewater modellers, providing technical guidance, mentoring and professional development.
• Oversee model build, verification, calibration, and hydraulic and water quality analysis.
• Lead catchment planning, DWMPs and the development of engineering solutions to address flooding and environmental challenges.
• Review and quality-assure technical reports, modelling outputs and project deliverables.
• Manage client relationships and providing specialist technical advice.
• Support project delivery, tender submissions, fee estimates and technical innovation.
