Job summary

Jacobs in Manchester seeks a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join and help grow our transport planning practice. You will apply multi-modal modelling, support major infrastructure and active travel projects, and lead project delivery with clients and stakeholders.

You will mentor colleagues, drive innovation through data analytics and emerging technologies, and contribute to shaping investment decisions within a collaborative team in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in a transport/analytics discipline.
• Strong experience in transport modelling and appraisal.
• Ability to lead complex projects and develop business cases.
• Experience using VISUM or similar modelling tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, calibration, validation of multi-modal transport models.
• Deliver complex transport planning projects from conception to completion.
• Provide technical leadership and quality assurance across teams.
• Develop and influence business cases and investment decisions.
• Mentor graduate and junior colleagues and support development.
