Job summary

Northumberland County Council in Morpeth is seeking a Principal Transport Officer to lead the development of transport strategies, policies and evidence, and to translate policy into delivery. • A degree or equivalent qualification in a transport, planning, engineering or related discipline.
• Significant experience of developing and delivering transport strategies, policies, programmes or projects.
• Strong knowledge of transport planning, transport policy, highways legislation and infrastructure delivery processes.
• Experience of managing programmes, projects, budgets and resources to deliver successful outcomes.
• The ability to build effective partnerships and influence stakeholders across local government, public sector organisations and external agencies.
• Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to provide clear professional advice on complex transport issues.
• Experience of leading, supporting and developing professional teams

# Principal Transport Officer## Job InformationYou’ll be part of the Strategic Transport team within the Transport and Environment Directorate. The team develops and delivers transport policy, strategy and projects across the county, working closely with councillors, communities, government departments and external partners.We’re looking for a motivated professional with a strong understanding of transport planning and policy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
