Opportunity Overview

Our client, a leading defence company, has an exciting opportunity for a contract Systems Engineer to join their team within the Combat Air line of business for a twelve-month contract. The role involves working on systems for Typhoon, focusing on the development of systems for Typhoon Defensive Aids Systems. Due to the nature of the work, this position requires 4 days on-site in Luton. The team offers exposure to EW products and subject-matter experts in domain, product, and technology fields.

Responsibilities

1. Engage with stakeholders to define requirements for new systems
2. Conduct cost and performance trade-offs and evaluate proposed solutions
3. Design and integrate new functionalities into existing systems
4. Model systems to understand observed simulated performance
5. Develop capabilities within hardware limitations and constraints
6. Create Test Plans and Requirements for Verification and Validation of sub-systems
7. Develop Integration Plans for unit integration into the full system
8. Participate in technical discussions with suppliers and customers
9. Manage documentation to support design review activities

Candidate Requirements

Knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle, especially in:

• Systems Modelling and Analysis
• Integration, Verification, and Validation

Strong interpersonal skills for steering technical discussions, self-motivation, problem-solving aptitude, and excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation). Ability to obtain SC Clearance for UK-caveated programmes. Please send your CV in the first instance.
