Job summary

Arcadis UK seeks a Principal Structural Engineer based in the UK to lead design and coordination of structures across diverse projects. You will manage multidisciplinary teams, interface with clients, and drive technical quality and safety in every phase.

Working with sectors from industrial to education and government, you will mentor engineers, review work, and contribute to sustainable design solutions that improve quality of life.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification, preferably as chartered member of IStructE or the ICE.
• Existing SC clearance or eligibility to achieve SC security clearance.
• Strong technical ability, with deep knowledge of structural principles and project experience.
• Familiarity with commonly used structural materials and on-site considerations.
• Knowledge of commonly used structural analysis & design programs.
• Outstanding commitment to health and safety and knowledge of legal requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and experience in technical reporting.
• Attention to detail and ability to review others' work for quality.
• Interest in sustainable solutions and outcomes.
• Ability to manage teams and resources on projects.
• Willingness to share knowledge and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coordination of structures on a range of projects in various sectors.
• Manage technical and commercial aspects by leading teams of structural engineers and BIM modellers.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders; participate in the technical quality process and reviews.
• Mentor engineers and colleagues within projects and team initiatives.
