Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer in the UK to lead the structural design and coordination across a portfolio of projects. You will direct teams of structural engineers and BIM modellers, interfacing with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasises technical leadership, safety, and sustainable design, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and contribute to Arcadis’ multidisciplinary projects globally.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification, preferably as chartered member of the IStructE or the ICE.
• Existing SC clearance or eligibility to achieve SC clearance.
• Strong technical ability with deep knowledge of structural principles.
• Familiarity with structural materials and on-site use.
• Knowledge of commonly used structural analysis and design programs.
• Commitment to health and safety and knowledge of legal requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and experience in technical reports.
• Attention to detail and ability to review others' work for quality.
• Interest in sustainable solutions and outcomes.
• Ability to manage teams and resources; willingness to mentor.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and coordination of structures on a range of projects.
• Manage technical and commercial aspects by leading teams of engineers and BIM modellers.
• Interface with clients and stakeholders and participate in quality processes.
• Mentor engineers and colleagues within projects and teams.
