Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Principal Verification & Validation (V&V) Structural Engineer for a major UK programme with a flexible hybrid working model and infrequent Nottinghamshire office attendance.

You will lead verification planning, develop verification strategies and work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver robust outputs across multiple workstreams.

Qualifications

• Principal-level structural engineer with extensive industry experience.
• Strong background in structural engineering design.
• Experience performing desk-based and document-based verification activities.
• Site-based verification experience is advantageous.
• Experience with innovative, complex or novel structures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural engineering expertise for verification planning activities.
• Develop and maintain verification plans for structural scope across multiple workstreams.
• Lead and own verification activities within designated areas of responsibility.
• Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to develop integrated verification strategies.
• Support V&V methodologies, processes, planning, forecasting and integration activities.
• Produce and own technical outputs and deliverables.

Overview

We are seeking a Principal Verification & Validation (V&V) Structural Engineer to provide structural engineering expertise across a major engineering programme. This role will support verification planning, assurance activities, and multidisciplinary integration within a complex and technically challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide structural engineering expertise for verification planning activities.
• Develop and maintain verification plans for structural engineering scope across multiple workstreams.
• Lead and own verification activities within designated areas of responsibility.
• Work closely with engineers and subject matter experts from other disciplines to develop integrated verification strategies.
• Support V&V methodologies, processes, planning, forecasting, and integration activities.
• Produce and take ownership of technical outputs and deliverables.

Requirements

• Principal-level Structural Engineer with significant industry experience.
• Strong background in structural engineering design.
• Experience carrying out desk-based and document-based verification activities.
• Site-based verification experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with innovative, complex, or novel structures is desirable.
