Role description:
We are excited to be growing our Structural Engineering team within the Places Design Practice. We are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer based in UK with a strong technical background and experience in leading the structural aspects of projects. We work for a multitude of clients at national and international level on projects varied in type and size. We cover different sectors, with prevalent focus on industrial manufacturing, technology, education, government and defence.
In our engineering team you will create some of the world’s most iconic and innovative structures. You will design spaces that transform the world around us while bringing people together. Some of our recent projects include data centers, distribution centers, giga factories and other manufacturing facilities for the automotive industry, factories for microprocessors and a variety of other industrial buildings, accommodation facilities, offices, retail premises, schools and other public buildings. We are involved in the design or technical advisory at all stages of projects, both for new and existing buildings.
We work with our clients around the world to create smart, safe and sustainable places where people live, work, learn and thrive. As part of our multidisciplinary team and deploying our digital solutions, you will help Arcadis in the mission of improving quality of life.
Role accountabilities:
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for leading the design and coordination of structures on a range of projects in our various sectors of activity. You will be managing the technical and commercial aspects of the projects by leading teams of structural engineers and BIM modellers, while interfacing with clients and other stakeholders.
You will participate in our technical quality process by validating the work of other team members, both in the projects you lead and in other projects.
You will have the opportunity to mentor engineers and other colleagues in the context of projects or in the wider endeavours of our teams.
