Penguin Recruitment Ltd invites an experienced Principal Structural Engineer to lead the technical delivery of building structures from concept to completion in our Leeds office. You will guide engineers, manage programmes and resources, and foster strong client relationships to support ongoing growth.

Qualifications

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or nearing professional qualification, with IStructE or ICE.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in building structures engineering.
• Proven track record of delivering building structures projects with construction values up to £75 million.
• Excellent structural design and analytical skills.
• Experience with TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, Fastrack Portal Frame, CADS Wall Panel, P Frame and Masterseries Retaining Wall.
• Ability to manage projects through all stages of design and delivery.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop client relationships and contribute to wider business success.

The Role

As Principal Structural Engineer, you will lead the technical delivery and management of building structures projects, working closely with clients and multidisciplinary design teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

About You

We are keen to hear from experienced Senior or Principal Structural Engineers who combine strong technical expertise with the ambition to take on greater leadership and commercial responsibility.

You will ideally have:

• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or be approaching professional qualification, with the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
• A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in building structures engineering.
• A proven track record of delivering building structures projects with construction values of up to £75 million.
• Excellent structural design and analytical skills.
• Experience with relevant design software, including TEDDS, Tekla Structural Designer, Fastrack Portal Frame, CADS Wall Panel, P Frame and Masterseries Retaining Wall.
• The ability to manage projects effectively through all stages of design and delivery.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to develop client relationships and contribute to the wider success of a business.
