Elekta is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across shared software components and services in a global product portfolio. You will define technical direction, guide architecture, and ensure secure, scalable software for cloud and on-prem deployments from our Crawley HQ.

The role emphasizes driving best practices, cybersecurity, and high-quality software, with mentoring and cross-team collaboration across engineering and product groups.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering experience with C#, .NET/Core and distributed systems.
• Experience designing reusable services, versioned APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Strong experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud-native deployment practices.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and testing tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins or equivalents.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and maintenance of shared software components and services.
• Define APIs, integration contracts and component boundaries for interoperability.
• Guide architectural decisions balancing performance, security and maintainability.
• Drive software quality through code reviews, testing, CI/CD and standards.
• Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analyses for complex issues.
• Contribute to safety, cybersecurity and risk management activities.
• Collaborate with architects, product teams and engineering leaders on priorities.
• Mentor engineers and elevate technical expertise across the organization.
