Powys County Council is seeking an experienced Principal Social Worker to lead the Mainstream Fostering Service. You will drive high standards of practice, provide professional leadership and guidance, and ensure that children and young people remain at the centre of decision-making.

You will work with the Team Manager to promote trauma-informed, relationship-based practice and oversee complex fostering work, safeguarding, and service development to secure safe, stable, nurturing family

Formación

• Experienced and highly skilled registered social worker
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and permanence planning
• Ability to provide professional leadership, guidance and challenge
• Skilled at building positive relationships with children, foster carers and partner agencies
• Committed to continual improvement and learning culture

Responsabilidades

• Manage a caseload of complex fostering work including assessments, support planning, reviews and safeguarding matters
• Provide professional consultation, mentoring and practice guidance across the service
• Deputise for the Team Manager when required and provide professional and operational leadership
• Contribute to fostering recruitment, assessment, retention activity and quality assurance
• Collaborate with partners to strengthen fostering practice and ensure safe, stable family placements
