Tripod Partners in Cardiff is seeking a Principal Social Worker to lead the Fostering Team. This senior role combines strategic planning and hands-on practice, working with the Service Manager to ensure high quality fostering services for kinship and mainstream carers.

You will supervise staff, QA assessments, keep up to date with fostering legislation, and contribute to service development and panel processes.

• Undertake quality assurance of fostering assessments by internal and external assessors.
• Provide supervision, guidance and support to staff within the fostering service.
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of fostering legislation, regulations and guidance.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the fostering panel process and its role within the service.
• Contribute to strategic planning, service improvement and the development of effective fostering provision.
• Work alongside the Service Manager to develop tailored support for kinship and mainstream foster carers.
• Promote high standards of practice, safeguarding and quality across the service.

About The Role:

This is a non-case holding position offering the opportunity to combine strategic planning and service development with involvement in day-to-day practice matters. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will help ensure the delivery of a consistently high-quality fostering service, tailored to meet the needs of both kinship and mainstream foster carers.

You will play a key role in supporting staff, promoting best practice and ensuring assessments and service delivery meet the required standards.
