Job summary

Formula 1 Team in the United Kingdom is seeking a Principal Information Security Engineer to lead a small team while remaining hands-on in engineering and operations. You will own the cyber defence capability across the organisation, guiding security operations, tooling, detection, and incident response.

The role requires deep security fundamentals and the ability to build relationships, communicate clearly, and deliver pragmatic security decisions under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience across CSPM/SSPM, PAM, Vulnerability Management, Identity & Email Security, Security Operations & Incident Response.
• CrowdStrike is beneficial but not essential.
• SOAR, scripting, automation and MSSP experience are also advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead security operations, monitoring and incident response.
• Own and optimise the security tooling stack.
• Configure, tune and integrate security technologies.
• Improve detection and reduce false positives.
• Identify attack paths and strengthen controls.
• Apply attacker TTPs to improve defensive capability.
• Provide pragmatic security advice to the wider business.
• Lead and mentor two Security Engineers.
• Manage MSSPs, vendors and third-party relationships.
• Drive continuous security improvements.
• Protect both factory and trackside environments.
