Job description

Our team has an established track record of successfully delivering major multidisciplinary rail projects from our regional offices in London and Croydon, interfacing with other regional teams and Global design centres.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Rail Principal Civils Engineer to enhance and grow our team, supporting our expanding workload. The ideal candidate will have proven design experience across all stages of rail civils schemes and leadership in Civil and Structural Rail projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide Expertise: Lead civil and structural design efforts, manage bids, procurement, and contracts, with a strong track record as a CRE/Lead Engineer.
2. Collaborate: Receive project briefs from the Project Manager and coordinate team activities.
3. Ensure Quality: Develop and review designs, calculations, reports, and specifications. Oversee CAD drawings and documentation, liaising with designers and CAD Technicians.
4. Anticipate: Support development of construction specifications, attend site visits as needed, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including CDM.

Qualifications

• BSc, BEng, or Meng Degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered Engineer (ICE) or working towards it, and a member of a professional institution
• Experience in Rail Civils and Structures, familiarity with Network Rail, London Underground, Railway Group Standards, British Standards, and Eurocodes is preferred
