Job summary

Babcock International is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to lead quality across defence programmes at Ashton Vale, Bristol, Ashchurch, Gloucestershire, or Devonport, Plymouth. This role combines strategic quality leadership with hands-on delivery, ensuring safety, quality and performance standards are embedded throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Extensive practical experience applying quality across a product/service lifecycle.
• Experience implementing quality improvements and driving culture change.
• Experience writing and implementing quality processes.
• Knowledge of product lifecycle quality disciplines.
• Proficient with problem-solving tools (FMEA, 8D, 5 Whys) and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Project Quality Plans.
• Establish and monitor KPIs across programmes.
• Drive best-practice quality approaches in delivery teams.
• Lead quality risk-based assurance activities.
• Collaborate with programme managers, engineering and customers.
