Job summary

Vertical Aerospace in the West of England seeks a Principal Propellers Engineer to be the technical authority for propeller systems, shaping design, development, and certification for the Valo eVTOL. You will work in a small, high‑caliber team, leading critical decisions and delivering a certifiable solution for a first‑of‑its-kind aircraft.

The role involves collaboration across aerodynamics, structures, loads, rotordynamics, composites, and safety teams, mentoring engineers, and supporting

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with propellers or rotating machinery.
• Willingness to travel to Kemble and test locations.
• Eligible for technical approver signatory status.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority for propeller systems.
• Define propeller architecture and ensure compliance.
• Lead certification activities to CS-P standards.
• Collaborate across aerodynamics, structures, loads, rotordynamics, composites, and safety teams.
• Mentor engineers and drive design decisions.
