Job summary

Cyient, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled eVTOL Lead Aircraft Design Engineer to join our engineering team in the UK. You will design and develop electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, focusing on aero structures and integration with certification requirements.

Role requires hands-on CATIA V5 and 3D Experience, Windchill PLM, and experience with composites/metals manufacturing. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or related field.
• Experience in aircraft design, with eVTOL experience viewed as an advantage.
• Design experience on aero primary/secondary structures (Wing, Empennage, Fuselage).
• Hands-on CATIA V5 and 3D Experience design/analysis.
• Composites Design 3 (CPD) on CATIA V5 and Fibresim is mandatory.
• Windchill PLM experience.
• Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up.
• Aerospace composite/metallic materials and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with FAA/EASA certification processes.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work in integrated project teams and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Define design solutions for new components/assemblies and modifications (composites and metals).
• Prepare drawings and data for manufacturing and customer submittals.
• Produce ECNs to support manufacturing, customers, quality and certification.
• Ensure quality of deliveries by self and team.
• Interface with certification authorities to ensure airworthiness compliance.
• Attend key meetings/design reviews at customer facilities; hybrid work with customer offices.

and presentations of product design.Perform Design activities and interact within the team and interface teams towards a common objective for design maturity.Define design solutions for new components / assemblies and modifications to existing components (Composites and metallic) according to cost, weight, quality, manufacturability, serviceability and performance.To provide evidence of design compliance with Customer / Technical specifications.Prepare drawings and other engineering data required for the manufacturing of the product and data submittal to the customer.Produce ECN as required to support manufacturing, customers, quality, and certification.Ensure own and teams' quality of deliveries.Act as the technical interface with certification authorities to ensure compliance with airworthiness and certification standards.Delivery will require physical attendance at customer facilities for key meetings and design reviews, although an element of hybrid working between customer offices
