Job summary
Pick Everard in Glasgow is seeking a Principal Project Manager to lead major projects, shape strategy, and ensure client service excellence across a diverse portfolio.
You will drive governance, mentoring, and business development, deputise for senior leaders, and build long-term client relationships while guiding teams to deliver high-profile projects.
Qualifications
- A degree qualification, supported by significant relevant experience within Project Management, ideally gained within a consultancy environment.
- A recognised professional qualification, such as MAPM, MCIOB, MRICS or PRINCE2.
- Current membership of a relevant professional body, such as RICS, CIOB, APM or an equivalent organisation.
- Demonstrable experience operating at a senior level, successfully leading complex projects and delivering positive outcomes for clients.
- A strong understanding of building technology, construction methodologies and industry best practice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project risk management, with the ability to identify, assess and mitigate project risks effectively.
- An excellent understanding of standard forms of building contracts, including JCT and NEC.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to support project delivery while contributing to wider business objectives.
- Excellent bid writing, presentation and communication skills, with the confidence to engage and influence clients and key stakeholders.
- A proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and supporting business growth.
- A commitment to mentoring and developing colleagues, sharing knowledge and promoting high performance across project teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead Project and Key Account Management activities, ensuring the highest levels of client satisfaction and service delivery.
- Monitor, drive and report on project performance, identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective action plans.
- Contribute to the Project Manager Governance Group and support the development of best practice across the function.
- Take ownership of personal business objectives and contribute to wider team and business goals.
- Play a key role in business development activities, including leading bid submissions, client presentations and the pursuit of new opportunities.
- Deputise for Associates and Directors as required, providing leadership and support across projects and client accounts.
- Coach, mentor and develop members of the Project Management team, helping to build capability and support career progression.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and promoting long-term partnerships.
