Job summary

Binnies, an RSK Group company, seeks a Principal Process Engineer in Peterborough to lead process engineering within the @one Alliance for Anglian Water AMP8. You will set discipline direction, champion quality, and deliver sustainable, innovative solutions across projects.

Requirements include an engineering degree, chartered status, extensive water sector experience, and strong leadership. The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and progression of junior engineers within a high-performing

Qualifications

• Engineering degree required; Chartered or Fellow status preferred.
• Extensive water sector experience with process engineering and capital delivery.
• Proven ability to lead senior engineers and mentor teams.
• Experience with CDM, HAZOP, DSEAR and health, safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Act as the process engineering authority across the @one Alliance.
• Lead development of engineering procedures, standards, and quality frameworks.
• Support supplier and partner selection through competency assessments and audits.
• Identify and improve standard products to enhance efficiency and carbon reduction.
• Undertake independent design audits to ensure quality and compliance.
• Provide direction on complex design challenges and seek external expertise when needed.
• Champion health, safety, and welfare, including CDM compliance and safety reviews.
• Mentor Senior Process Engineers, lead discipline meetings, and manage competency matrices.
• Support early-career development through apprenticeships and graduate programmes.
• Drive innovation and digital adoption while promoting continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Anglian Water and industry bodies to improve standards and approaches.
• Promote sustainability and climate-resilience across process engineering.
