BakerHicks is seeking an experienced Principal Process Engineer to join our collaborative Process Engineering team in the UK. You will lead and mentor engineers, shape process solutions across Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Chemicals and Life Sciences, and help deliver high‑quality engineering outcomes across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering from a recognised university.
• Experience in sectors such as Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Chemicals, Life Sciences.
• Experience producing detailed process engineering designs and calculations.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Previous senior or lead engineering capacity.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to balance project priorities while maintaining technical quality.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of process engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle, from concept and feasibility through to detailed design, commissioning and operation.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Contribute specialist expertise in hazard studies, commissioning and qualification, optioneering and feasibility studies, constructability reviews, GMP compliance reviews.
• Build trusted relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Work closely with colleagues, vendors and supply chain partners to deliver successful project outcomes.
• Carry out site visits and surveys where required.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and engineering documentation.
• Coach, mentor and support junior engineers, helping them develop technically and professionally.
• Share knowledge and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
