Job summary

Octagon Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Process Engineering Team Leader based in Bicester, with hybrid working. You will coordinate a technical engineering team and provide hands-on support across production, manufacturing and test operations.

The role focuses on leading process improvements, NPIs readiness, and driving first-time yield enhancements, while mentoring engineers and ensuring robust calibration and maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a process, manufacturing or production engineering environment.
• Hands-on engineering experience in manufacturing, production, or test.
• Experience with CAD, Python, ERP/MRP systems or related manufacturing tech.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coordinate and prioritise workloads across the Process Engineering team.
• Provide day-to-day technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to engineers.
• Support production teams with complex technical issues, fault finding and resolution.
• Manage and improve manufacturing, assembly and test processes.
• Develop test equipment capability, reliability and efficiency.
• Drive improvements in first-time pass yield and reduce production/test failures.
• Manage calibration and preventative maintenance of production equipment and test systems.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) ensuring processes, tooling and equipment are ready for production.
• Investigate mechanical and electronic component failures with Quality, Engineering and Purchasing.
