Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Accelerator Business in the Platform Team. You’ll help transform ideas into customer-ready solutions, mentor engineers, and drive scalable, secure infrastructure across squads.

You will work with senior stakeholders to set long-term technology direction, champion AI-enabled development practices, and ensure operational excellence through robust observability and governance.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in computing or cloud platforms.
• Expert-level admin of a major cloud platform (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Mastery of Kubernetes administration and operator patterns.
• Strong cloud networking across OSI layers.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code methodologies.
• Hands-on design, development, testing and operations experience.
• Advanced knowledge of modern languages (Go, Java, Kotlin).
• Proven technical leadership and cross-team collaboration.
• Security engineering experience and AI-enabled DevOps adoption.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive multi-year technical roadmap and architecture for platform engineering.
• Mentor senior engineers and promote engineering communities of practice.
• Translate technical decisions into business impact for product, security, and business stakehold ers.
• Lead design and delivery of secure, scalable infrastructure and capabilities.
• Own production stability and automate recurring issues with DORA/SLIs/SLOs metrics.
• Set architectural standards and evaluate technologies with partners.
• Champion FinOps and optimize cloud costs and performance of distributed systems.
• Governs AI-enabled engineering workflows with guardrails for security and resilience.
