Job summary

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the North of England in the search for a Principal Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 3 month contract (Extensions likely).

The role will manage a caseload of multiple large-scale Residential Schemes (circa. 100 units) as well as mixed-use retail and commercial schemes. MRTPI will be looked upon favourably though not necessary.

Qualifications

• Experience as a development management case officer in a local authority or private practice.
• Strong knowledge of planning legislation and national guidance.
• MRTPI endorsement viewed favourably but not essential.

Responsibilities

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the North of England in the search for a Principal Planning Officer to join their Development Management team on an initial 3 month contract (Extensions likely).

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated planning professional who can demonstrate the qualities to hit the ground running and successfully manage a caseload of multiple large scale Residential Schemes (circa. 100 units) as well as mixed used retail and commercial schemes.

To apply for this role, it is essential that you have worked as a development management case officer in a local authority planning department or at an equivalent level in a private practice. The successful candidate must demonstrate good technical knowledge and understanding of relevant planning legislation and national guidance. Experience of working in a rural area would also be desirable and being MRTPI will be looked upon favourably though is not necessary.

It would be beneficial to hold a Post-graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline.

Carrington West Pay Rate - £55per/hour (DOE)
