Job summary

Park Avenue Recruitment is exclusively partnering with a well-established East Midlands Local Authority to recruit an experienced Principal Planning Officer to lead major and complex planning applications and provide technical guidance.

The role offers hybrid working (1 day on site weekly), a competitive hourly rate up to £55 outside IR35, and long-term contract security while contributing to high-profile schemes.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of major application (up to 200 dwellings, grey belt, green belt, commercial and industrial use)
• Manage a caseload of complex development
• Prepare reports and present applications at Planning Committee.
• Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues on complex cases.
• Engage with applicants, consultees and stakeholders to deliver high-quality planning outcomes.
