Job summary

Cyngor Caerdydd/Cardiff Council is seeking an experienced Principal Planner (Section 106 Legal Agreements) to join the Planning team in Cardiff. You will act as the lead Officer on planning and legal agreements, providing strategic advice and ensuring effective handling of S106 funds.

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated person to join our team as a Principal Planner (Section 106 Legal Agreements)

The main office base for the job is County Hall, in the heart of the beautiful Cardiff Bay, however we have embraced the benefits of hybrid home-office working.

What We Are Looking For From You

To act as the council’s lead Officer on planning / legal agreements (currently under section 106), providing strategic advice to planning officers, developers, senior managers, and elected members.

To be responsible for the implementation of the Council’s S106 system to ensure the effective collection, processing and distribution/expenditure of S106 monies and to ensure the completion of in‑kind provision by developers.

To monitor development activity and undertake associated site visits, including undertaking annual city‑wide housing monitoring. To lead on the accurate recording and reviewing of this data and ensuring that it is maintained in the relevant databases.

To lead on the production, approval and publication of annual s106 and housing monitoring reports, including infrastructure funding statements.
