Job summary

FutureGen Recruitment is seeking a Principal Planner in Glasgow to lead planning instructions across residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. You will collaborate with agency, valuation and rural teams to deliver clear planning advice and appraisals.

You will manage multiple commissions, oversee junior staff and contribute to business development, with a hybrid working arrangement and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• MRTPI qualification and Scottish planning experience are essential.
• Strong client skills and ability to manage multiple commissions.
• Organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues clearly to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage planning instructions within the team and collaborate with agency, valuation and rural teams.
• Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.
• Coordinate planning applications and input from technical specialists.
• Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.
• Negotiate with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.
• Review junior colleagues' work and support their development.
• Contribute to fee proposals, client development and project financials.
