Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead delivery of mechanical work for high‑profile chemical/process projects, with a focus on pilot plants. You will guide technical reviews, oversee design teams and drive innovative engineering solutions from concept through implementation.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering, CEng status or active progression, and a track record in chemical/process environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• CEng status or actively working towards professional registration.
• Experience delivering mechanical engineering projects within chemical/process industries, including pilot plants.
• Experience leading engineering activities and mentoring mechanical engineers and designers.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, equipment specifications, calculations, and design documentation.
• Experience in multidisciplinary project teams from scope development to delivery.
• Understanding of safety considerations in chemical processing environments.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering activities across pilot plant and chemical process projects, ensuring designs meet requirements and client objectives.
• Deliver pilot plant solutions translating process design into robust, fit-for-purpose mechanical engineering solutions.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams with process, piping, structural, electrical, instrumentation and controls engineers.
• Review and approve designs, calculations, equipment specs and documentation to ensure quality and safety.
• Support project execution including scope development, procurement, supplier engagement and change management.
• Drive technical innovation and continuous improvement in engineering practice.
• Maintain compliance with legislation, standards and process safety considerations.
• Mentor engineers and designers to build a high-performing engineering team.
