Matchtech Group is seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer (Platform Systems) to support delivery of complex platform systems within a leading Defence & Security organisation. Hybrid (2-3 days on site) role spanning requirements definition through to customer acceptance.

You will develop mechanical solutions for mission-critical systems, lead design reviews, and work with multidisciplinary teams and customers in a highly regulated environment.

Formación

• Extensive experience delivering mechanical systems through the full engineering lifecycle.
• Strong background in mechanical design, integration, verification and acceptance.
• Experience producing engineering calculations, technical specifications and design documentation.
• Strong understanding of requirements management and systems engineering principles.
• Ability to engage confidently with customers and technical stakeholders.
• Experience working within highly regulated engineering environments.
• Experience specifying diesel generators and associated mechanical systems.
• Defence, naval, aerospace or complex platform systems experience.
• Experience supporting customer acceptance and commissioning activities.

Responsabilidades

• Develop mechanical design solutions in line with project timescales, budgets and quality requirements.
• Define, manage and verify system, product and platform requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Support design, build, integration, installation and commissioning activities.
• Produce technical documentation, including specifications, calculations, diagrams and design justifications.
• Maintain design evidence and requirements traceability within engineering management tools.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, safety, environmental and engineering standards.
• Lead design reviews and present technical solutions to customers and stakeholders.
• Support equipment, system and platform acceptance activities.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership across the wider engineering team.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer (Platform Systems) to support the delivery of complex platform systems within a leading Defence & Security organisation.

This is an opportunity to work across the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition and design through to integration, commissioning and customer acceptance. You'll play a key role in developing mechanical solutions for mission-critical systems while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and customers.

What You'll Be Doing
