Job summary

A Principal Mechanical Design Engineer position in London is seeking an engineer to lead innovative HVAC design for data centre and critical infrastructure projects. You will work with a cross-functional design team and interact with clients on project delivery.

The role expects a degree in mechanical/building services engineering, with experience in commercial or life science sectors and knowledge of IES, Revit and Bluebeam. London-based, on-site with travel and a car allowance offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial or life science projects required.
• Experience on new builds and fit-out projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of innovative mechanical/HVAC design for critical infrastructure in the UK and Europe.
• Attend design team and client meetings with the multi-disciplinary engineering design team.
• Mentor and train junior engineers within the team.

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

£60,000 - £70,000 per annum DOE + Travel + Car Allowance

Due to several recent major project wins and in line with an ambitious growth plan, we are looking for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join the London office of a tier one Mechanical and Electrical Sub-Contractor.

The Company

• Tier one Sub-Contractor, specialising in Data Centres, Commercial and Fit-Out projects.
• Established Design team, split between mechanical and electrical, with a wealth of experience.
• Central London office close to major transport links.

Key Responsibilities

• The Principal Mechanical Engineer will take a lead role on the successful delivery of innovative mechanical/ HVAC design on critical infrastructure projects in the UK and Europe.
• The Principal Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for attending design team and client meetings and working with the wider multi-disciplinary engineering design team.
• The Principal Mechanical Design Engineer will take responsibility for training and mentoring less experienced Engineers in the team.

Skills and Background

• Background in commercial or life science projects, with new build and fit out experience required.
• Competence on IES, Revit and Bluebeam.
• Educated to Degree level or equivalent in either mechanical engineering or building services engineering.
