Job summary

ARM seeks a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for a 6 month contract based in Filton. You will perform mechanical design and proving activities, leveraging CREO 3D to develop parts and assemblies for defence and aerospace projects.

You will collaborate with manufacturing to resolve issues, participate in environmental testing, and liaise with suppliers to answer technical queries. The role reports day-to-day progress and supports project milestones.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical design and proving activities.
• Experience using CREO 3D design tool.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and DFMA.
• Familiar with environmental testing and validation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical design and proving activities for parts and assemblies.
• Support manufacturing to resolve problems and defects.
• Support functional and environmental testing and trials.
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve technical queries.
• Plan and report day-to-day activities to meet milestones.
• Clarify and help generate project requirements.

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer 6 month contract Based in Filton Offering up to 50ph Inside IR35

As the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working alongside a market–leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Carry out Mechanical Design and proving activities as part of a wider team for prime and variant products, of both piece parts and assemblies
• Support/liaise with manufacturing, resolving manufacturing problems & defects
• Support the functional & environmental testing and trials
• Liaise with suppliers/purchasing to resolve any technical queries that may arise
• Planning and reporting on own day–to–day activities to meet project milestones
• Gain clarification of and help to generate requirements
