Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for a six‑month contract based in Filton. You will lead mechanical design and proving activities for defence and aerospace programmes, using CREO for 3D design, and collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve issues.

The role requires delivering designs that meet milestones, applying DMA/DFM principles, tolerances, and environmental considerations across prime and variant assemblies.

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out mechanical design and proving activities.
• Proficiency with CREO 3D design tool and related design methods.
• Ability to coordinate with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities

Principal Mechanical Design Engineer

As the Principal Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be working alongside a market-leading Defence and Aerospace company who are constantly growing and developing. You will be involved in:

• Carry out Mechanical Design and proving activities as part of a wider team for prime and variant products, of both piece parts and assemblies


• Support/liaise with manufacturing, resolving manufacturing problems & defects


• Support the functional & environmental testing and trials


• Liaise with suppliers/purchasing to resolve any technical queries that may arise


• Planning and reporting on own day-to-day activities to meet project milestones


• Gain clarification of and help to generate requirements
