Job summary

Carrington West invites an experienced Principal Maritime Engineer to join the Ports & Maritime Infrastructure team in the UK. The role focuses on leading technical delivery of port and marine infrastructure projects for clients across the UK, Ireland and internationally.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams from feasibility to construction, mentor junior engineers and contribute to business growth while maintaining high technical standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Structural, Maritime Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) with ICE, IStructE or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead maritime engineering projects from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction.
• Design and assess marine structures such as quay walls, jetties, piers, dolphins and seawalls.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, specifications and drawings.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate civil, structural, geotechnical, coastal and environmental teams.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and stakeholders throughout delivery.
• Support assessment, refurbishment and rehabilitation of existing maritime assets.
• Contribute to proposals, tenders and business development.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
