Job summary

AERIUS Marine UK, a subsidiary of AERIUS Marine GmbH and part of the Heinen & Hopman Group, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of marine refrigeration systems, focusing on shipboard chilled water plants and onboard cold store solutions.

You will provide technical authority, govern the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning, ensure compliance with UKCA and classification society requirements, and collaborate with customers, suppliers, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Master's degree preferred for senior technical authority roles.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of marine refrigeration plants, including chilled water systems for naval and commercial vessels.
• Develop refrigeration solutions for onboard cold store applications.
• Act as subject matter expert for thermodynamic design, component selection, system integration, and performance optimisation.
• Provide engineering governance throughout the full project lifecycle: concept, detailed design, build, FAT/SAT, commissioning.
