Job summary

AERIUS Marine UK is seeking an HVAC Detail Designer to join our UK team, delivering detailed HVAC routed systems, BOMs, and 2D outputs from FORAN 3D models. You will collaborate with HVAC designers and other discipline teams to ensure proper integration and compliance with project standards.

The role requires experience in HVAC detail design, FORAN, Windchill, and a proven ability to read schematics and work with equipment catalogues.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HVAC detail design and 3D model output.
  • Knowledge of FORAN and Windchill required.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and equipment data sheets.
  • Experience with BOMs and catalogues.

Responsibilities

  • Create and modify HVAC routed systems and BOM within FORAN.
  • Produce 2D outputs from 3D models per standards and project specs.
  • Collaborate with HVAC designers and other disciplines to resolve integration issues.
  • Interpret data sheets and equipment BOM data from Stage 1 owner.
  • Read complex schematics and translate into integrated HVAC designs.
  • Understand HVAC equipment catalogs.

Job description

AERIUS Marine UK (a subsidiary of AERIUS Marine GmbH and part of the Heinen & Hopman Group) is considered a market leader in the provision of turnkey Marine Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. With a portfolio of customers spanning the Naval, Commercial and Offshore Renewable Energy sectors, Aerius Marine can offer exciting challenges for both experienced engineers and those just starting out alike. In addition to HVAC, Aerius Marine also provide engineering solutions for Chilled Water, Refrigeration and Fixed Firefighting systems.

Your primary responsibilities as an HVAC Detail Designer will include:
  • Creation and modification of HVAC routed systems and Bill of Materials (BOM), within an integrated 3D Model (FORAN)
  • Generation of clear and concise 2D outputs from fully developed 3D Models, in accordance with project specific quality standards and engineering design specifications
  • Interfacing with the HVAC System Designers and all other spatial design discipline teams, to resolve integration issues and develop appropriate solutions
  • Understanding and working with information provided by HVAC system owner (Stage 1) in the form of data sheets, schematic line diagrams and equipment bill of materials
  • Ability to read complex schematic diagrams and interpret these for integrating HVAC systems
  • Understanding of HVAC equipment and parts catalogues
Essential
Your skills and qualifications as a HVAC Detail Designer:
  • Experience of detail design within HVAC
  • Experience of Foran
  • Experience of Windchill
  • Experience of creating HVAC outputs
  • Ability to work with part catalogues for equipment selection
  • Experience and proven knowledge using Microsoft Word and Excel
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Naval/Commercial ship building
  • Knowledge of BOM and product data sheets
  • HVAC system experience is preferred although other routed system experience will be considered
What AERIUS Are Looking For In You

You must possess excellent interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to organise work to meet scheduled targets and deadlines. You must be able to support the Lead Engineer / Senior Detail Designer to ensure all aspect of the schedule are achieved. You must also have a ‘right first time’ approach and a solutions-orientated attitude to your work.

Full security clearance will be necessary therefore a valid DBS/Disclosure Scotland certificate is mandatory; the charges accrued will be covered by the company.
