Job summary

MBDA UK Ltd is seeking a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team on-site in Bolton. You will drive continuous improvement, manage workloads, and shape manufacturing architecture in line with lean principles and factory of the future concepts.

You will mentor engineers, interface with design authority, and ensure safe, robust processes while supporting cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Formal technical Engineering apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 and HNC or equivalent.
• Degree in relevant Engineering subject is acceptable.
• Ability to interpret drawings and produce Manufacturing Build Instructions.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day manufacturing engineering team and workloads.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
• Support lean principles and factory of the future concepts.
• Interface with design authority on product prototype development for DFM.
• Ensure a safe working environment and maintain equipment.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing methods and cross-functional relationships.
• Perform PFMEAs and support training of Process Engineers.
