Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking Lighting Engineers from Engineer to Principal level to support Local Government and Strategic Road Network capabilities across the UK, including Brighton. You will deliver detailed lighting designs, feasibility studies, and coordinate with luminaire and electrical manufacturers, contractors, and clients.

Qualifications

• Able to work independently and within a team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.
• Experience coaching and developing junior members of the team.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed design layouts, drawings and support documentation.
• Prepare feasibility reports, option studies and specifications.
• Engage with luminaire, column, controls and electrical manufacturers.
• Coordinate with contractors including site support and RFIs.
• Complete non-intrusive site visits to support lighting assessments.
• Assist in development of proposals and monitor programme milestones.
• Liaise with Local Authority and Strategic Road Network clients.
• Analyze client briefs and provide expert guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and support career development.
• Represent WSP within the lighting industry and drive business development.
